NGC 1499
| The California Nebula as this is commonly called is located in the constellation of Perseus. The entire nebula resembles the state of California giving rise to the nickname. This image was shot using a narrowband filter allowing only a narrow portion of red light to pass through the filter. The image is a two frame mosaic taken using the Apogee U16M. |
